Often it’s not the stress itself that harms us but rather how we react to it. Join us for four week gentle hatha yoga practice that is designed to provide you with tools and techniques to not only relieve stress but also help you deal with life’s challenges in a healthier way. You will learn to activate your body’s relaxation response and calm the mind through breathing techniques, postures, and meditation.

Yoga experience is not required for this class and it is appropriate for all bodies. Use of props such as the wall, chairs, blankets, and bolsters are encouraged (props are available in the classroom). We will move gently and mindfully with our breath during this hatha yoga practice learning concrete ways to “downshift” from our hectic day of multi-tasking. sensory overload, and stress. We hope to see you in class!

Special Restorative Yoga Sessions

In this class we will begin breath work by gentle breath centered movement, slow flow, and ending with the majority of the class being pure restorative yoga.

It’s my opinion that how messy the room is when you complete a restorative session indicates the quality of the class so we are pulling out the props: bolsters, blocks, blankets, eye pillow, lavender, and a few surprises!

Note: Special Restorative Yoga Sessions are appropriate for anyone that can independently get up and down off the floor. Also, if you are sensitive to lavender, this class would not be appropriate for you.

A gentle yoga series appropriate for all bodies with a focus on the practice of gratitude. Why limit being thankful to Thanksgiving? Research indicates that a regular practice in gratitude could improve you quality of life and overall well-being. During this series we will learn ways to bring the practice of gratitude including thankfulness, appreciation, generosity, grace, and so many others. Those qualities tend to be contagious as we step off our mat and go into the world. Through a sustained practice in gratitude, my belief is that we not only improve our overall well-being but also become a positive change in the world for ourselves and future generations.
